Character Name: Asmodeus
Age: Thousands of years old. While a number is never given, Ozzie himself notes that he was around when actual Hell was formed.

Canon Abilities: As one of the Seven Deadly Sins, Asmodeus is one of the most powerful figures we've seen in the show so far, even more so than many of the villains. To be brief:

- Immortality. Demonic royalty is not only ageless, but can only be harmed, let alone killed, with angelic (Heaven blessed) weaponry. Injuries heal quickly otherwise.
- Pyrokinesis. As the former fire breather in Lucifer's circus, he has the ability to ignite himself without harming himself, and is capable of literally breathing fire.
- Portals. Asmodeus is uniquely able to conjure portals that can not only go great distances, but also across realms, as they can be used to travel from Hell up to the human world. This will be limited so he can't just leave the game whenever he wants. That'd be no fun. He can also make crystals enchanted with this ability that can be used by others.
- Smoke manipulation. His smoke tends to be blue and pink and canon has shown him able to transport himself and others around with it, as well as conjure up illusions.
- Transformation. Ozzie can morph his body into different sizes and potentially different shapes. Canon has shown him using this to adjust his size to fit through normal sized doors (he is a very large man), shift his appearance and even taken on a more demonic form, where he is even larger and engulfed in flames.
- Super strength. Makes sense for Asmodeus being such a large individual, and is supported in canon when he casually punches and breaks a marble statue without any kind of repercussion.
- Musical numbers. Demons and angels alike in the setting often break into musical numbers that are 100% diegetic. Colors, lighting and even scenery can change powerful figures like Ozzie break into song, though he's also proven able to manipulate the scene even outside of a song, with just a snap of his fingers.

🦋 Personality

1. Has your character always believed in magic? Do they have something influencing their perspective on the supernatural/metaphysical/spiritual from their past? How do they feel about magic?


Magic is very real in the world of Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel. As one of the Seven Deadly Sins, Asmodeus understands it very well; his is a powerful name in demonology and humans are able to summon demons to their world if they follow the right instructions. They can even summon themselves, if they have a medium to work such as possessed humans. For all of his magical power, Asmodeus is a surprisingly approachable and fun loving person. While his sin is Lust and acts of lust give him power, he’s a fervent believer in passion and consent. The journey is more important than the destination to him, and makes the end result so much sweeter to him.

This is important to mention because while he accepts magic as a part of reality, especially the parts that maintain his position as a Deadly Sin, it’s not an excuse to be an inconsiderate and terrible person. If others are enjoying themselves in acts of lust, then Ozzie will enjoy it infinitely more. From engineering toys to robots to running an extremely successful dinner theater, Ozzie goes out of his way to make lust a pleasurable experience for as many people as possible, even if it means putting magic back into the system to keep it going.


2. If there's one person your character would follow to another realm, who would it be and why? If there's no one, state that and explain why.


His partner Fizzarolli, without any hesitation. Fizz is someone Ozzie loves with all of his heart, to the point that he’s made the imp jester a business partner. He loves Fizz so much, the two of them are the gross kind of madly in love who cuddle and give each other cute nicknames (Oz calls him Froggie). He loves Fizz so much, he was willing to stake his reputation and power as a Deadly Sin to be with him and keep him safe. This wasn’t always the case, though, in the sense that they both knew being openly romantic with someone would hurt his reputation. News articles called Ozzie a hypocrite for mocking a love song in his club while openly cuddling Fizz not long after, so their relationship was a widely known secret.

A mafioso once kidnapped Fizz and tried to blackmail Ozzie into signing away his clubs and factories in exchange for Fizz’s life. As a Deadly Sin, any deals he makes are eternal; despite this, Asmodeus was ready to immediately sign everything away to save him. What prevented this was the intervention of prince Stolas thoroughly reading the contracts and keeping Ozzie informed. During a later conflict with the deadly sin Mammon, Ozzie stood face to face with the Sin of Greed in his empowered form, ready to fight for Fizz in front of millions of viewers. He confessed to his love of Fizz there in spite of the risks; that the audience warmly welcomed the news instead of mocking him was a bonus.

Ozzie would sacrifice a lot to make sure his beloved is safe and he can be with him, Following him through a random portal would be one of the easier things he’s done for Fizz.


3. What is your character's most outstanding personality trait, and why?


In a word: passion. Ozzie loves his role as the Sin of Lust and not just because it’s a great gig with great power and respect from demonkind, but because he views lust itself as an art form. It’s entertainment! Adult entertainment, sure, but that’s no reason to barely put in the effort. He’s a performer at his core, and lives to please the crowd; that means he utterly refuses to only put the minimal effort into his work. He also refuses nonconsensual notions like force or love potions because then lust stops being about passion; it becomes repulsive to him. He cares too much about people to let his Sin be anything be less than enjoyable for all. His empathy for lower ranked demons is not a universal trait among the Deadly Sins, either; it’s only shared by a few of them (particularly Beelzebub).

Ozzie’s affinity for fire symbolizes his passionate demeanor. He often breathes little flames as a form of expression, sometimes as a resignation but usually to express enthusiasm. When angered, his mane moves and acts like fire, incredible heat and all. His love of Fizzarolli further emphasizes this, as he’s willing to share everything he has, everything he is, with the one he loves. Passion is Asmodeus to his core and would even take the time to explain in character why he values it so much.


4. Your character gets to return home, but when they do they learn that they've been gone for hundreds of years. How do they react?


Some might immediately assume that, as an immortal demon king, very little would change for Asmodeus. Those people wouldn’t exactly be wrong; he would still be the Sin of Lust, he would still have an entire Ring of Hell as his domain, he would still have an influx of power so long as people are willing to commit lust, whether human or demon (maybe angel as well; that’s never stated). Ozzie might even find his businesses and factories still in use!

The problem is: Ozzie cares about the well being of lower ranking mortal demons. Their pleasure and enjoyment of what he does is key to his satisfaction in life. While he’s seen many faces come and go with time, a prolonged absence would have people wondering where he went, maybe even wondering if he abandoned his people. Lucifer received a lot of criticism for doing nothing for a long time while the citizens of Pride endured their hardships; while Lust’s problems are significantly more manageable, the backlash would hurt Ozzie’s own pride. More importantly, the mortals he loves would be long dead. This would be especially painful if it meant losing Fizz, as he would’ve never been able to say goodbye to his beloved.

While he has immortal friends among the Sins and maybe some of the Ars Goetia, losing that many years would emotionally hurt him as it would a mortal. He could accept the disparity between mortals and immortals as long as he has the option to spend time with them; taking that away means taking something important to him and his role as the Sin of Lust.
